Labatt-ami, Upper Beer Walls, Chapel Pass, Climber: Unknown
This photograph was made during the first test session for our first boom. We learned a lot that day! Mostly we learned that positioning a camera on the end of a 23-foot pole, without dropping or otherwise destroying it, would not be easy. We also learned that precise calibration of the camera’s vertical angle was critical to the feel of the shot, and necessary to avoid including the pole or our feet in the frame. The resulting images however, encouraged us to devote the time required to learn to “see” from this bizarre perspective and get the system dialed in.
